Night Star Express Hellmann BV expands location in `s-Heerenberg, the Netherlands

Night Star Express Hellmann BV, a subsidiary of Hellmann Worldwide Logistics SE & Co. KG, is expanding its logistics location in `s-Heerenberg, the Netherlands. With the expansion of the existing property, the company is reacting to the increased demand and the resulting increased volume in the area of nighttime deliveries. A modern office building with 312 m² of usable space and a new 1,884 m² cross-docking warehouse will be built. The investment volume amounts to EUR 2.8 million. The ground-breaking ceremony for the new building took place on September 5, in the presence of Matthias Hohmann, Managing Director Night Star Express, and Arnold Schroven, Chairman of the Advisory Board.

The 5,224 m² cross-docking warehouse operated so far had reached its capacity limits with a 61 percent increase in consignment numbers since 2009. After thorough examination of various alternatives, Hellmann decided to build a new building on the adjacent 5,849 m² extension area, for which a pre-emptive right had already been secured in 2009. Hellmann again commissioned the Dutch company Tara Bouw BV, which was already responsible for the construction of the current plant in 2008.

The Night Star Express Hellmann serves the entire delivery area in the Netherlands and Belgium from its `s-Heerenberg location. The offer is primarily aimed at customers from the after-sales sector of the automotive, agriculture and construction machinery industry.

With the expanded facility, NSE Hellmann BV is using its strategic location advantage directly on the German-Dutch border (BAB A3) and thus strengthening its leading market position as the only night express service provider in the Lower Rhine region. In the future, the site will also be used for other logistics services, such as LCL and FCL loads. The company estimates medium-term growth forecasts for the NSE location at up to 40 percent by 2025.

"The expansion of the location in `s-Heerenberg is the logical consequence of the strong growth that Night Star Express has experienced in cross-border traffic in recent years," says Matthias Hohmann, Managing Director Night Star Express "with necessary investments in infrastructure, we ensure our first-class quality for the benefit of our customers."

"We are pleased that our employees always go the extra mile for our customers, not only in order to maintain our first-class service, but also to optimize it every day. This enables us to react appropriately and promptly to the increasing demands of the market," adds Wilfried Hesselmann, Chief Operating Officer (COO) Courier, Express, Parcel, Hellmann Worldwide Logistics.
