Hellmann trainees discuss prospects in the logistics industry with Oliver Luksic

Oliver Luksic, Parliamentary State Secretary to the Federal Minister for Digital and Transport, was invited to Hellmann Worldwide Logistics for a roundtable discussion with apprentices on April 21, the Logistics Day. At the new logistics facility in Völklingen, in south west Germany, the apprentices gave some insights behind-the-scenes what logistics offers to young graduates - from stays abroad to interdisciplinary project work.

Discussions focused on how the German logistics market must develop with regard to sustainability and digitalization, in order to remain future-oriented and at the same time attractive for employees. Luksic promoted the idea of taking up one of the many different apprenticeships in logistics.

"As an exporting nation in the heart of Europe, strong logistics are of huge importance for our country. To remain the logistics world champion in the future, Germany needs well-trained specialists. These service providers of tomorrow are the foundation in order to secure supply and value creation," says Oliver Luksic, Parliamentary State Secretary to the Federal Minister for Digital and Transport.

"With more than three million employees, the logistics sector is the third-largest economic sector in Germany and not only ensures the supply of society and the economy, but also offers a very diverse working environment, which is sometimes underestimated in its importance and diversity. I am therefore very pleased that our trainees were able to show how varied, international and future-oriented our industry is in their exchange with Mr. Luksic," says Sven Eisfeld, Managing Director of Hellmann in Germany.
