Hellmann trainees set a nationwide example against violence

To mark the International Day against Violence against Women on November 25, Hellmann trainees have painted 30 wooden benches orange and provided them with emergency numbers for victims and (potential) perpetrators. The benches will subsequently be set up centrally at Hellmann locations throughout Germany to set an example against violence under the motto "Orange The World" proclaimed by the United Nations.

As part of the campaign, the trainees also took part in a prevention training course. On the one hand, the aim was to raise awareness of where violence begins, and on the other hand, methods were taught on how violence can be actively prevented. In cooperation with the ZONTA Club Westfälischer Frieden from Osnabrück, the Hellmann helps association has launched a project to take a clear stance against violence against women and girls.

Since 2008, 'Orange The World' has been part of the United Nations Secretary-General's 'UNiTE to End Violence against Women' campaign. In this context, the ZONTA Club Westfälischer Frieden has been initiating the installation of action benches at prominent locations in Osnabrück since 2022 – as a climate-friendly alternative to orange-colored building lighting – and is looking for partners to support this initiative.

"At Hellmann, we live a corporate culture in which CARING is a core value. This means that we want to treat ourselves and our environment with care. It is important to us to live diversely and incorporate equal opportunities, as well as to actively look when boundaries are crossed. Civil courage and the ability to self-reflect are particularly important here. We want to promote this with this project and make it visible in the long term," says Martin Eberle, CEO of the Hellmann helps association and CFO, Hellmann Worldwide Logistics.

"There is no place for violence against women and girls here! - This statement becomes more visible year after year with the distribution of our orange benches. We are delighted that Hellmann is also joining our campaign. Thanks to the dedicated trainees and the great organization and financing of the Hellmann helps association, a strong signal against violence could be set nationwide," adds Sanja Pelletier, President of ZONTA Club Westfälischer Frieden Osnabrück.
