Hellmann becomes corporate partner of the Digital Hub Logistics in Hamburg

The global family-owned company Hellmann Worldwide Logistics has been collaborating closely with various start-ups for many years in order to actively shape and drive forward the digital transformation of the industry. Since February, Hellmann has also been a corporate partner of the Digital Hub Logistics in Hamburg (DHLH) and is contributing its expertise here, particularly with regard to the sustainable anchoring of innovations in the structures of a global medium-sized company.

The innovation-space DHLH is part of the German network “Digital Hub Initiative”, initiated by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection and the Digital Association Bitkom. Currently, it operates twelve thematic locations across Germany. The network aims to promote exchange between companies, investors, start-ups, and the science community to drive sustainable innovations forward. With Hellmann joining, the Digital Hub Logistics in Hamburg now includes 25 corporate partners and around 100 start-ups. Together, they develop groundbreaking ideas and smart innovations for the logistics and supply chain of the future, making them market-ready.

“We warmly welcome Hellmann as our new corporate partner and look forward to valuable insights and exciting experiences in the context of innovation and digitization. This partnership provides Hellmann with another opportunity to enhance its digital competence and strengthen its presence in the market. Simultaneously, Hellmann, as a global logistics service provider, contributes its extensive industry know-how, playing a crucial role in the agile structures of the hub, which thrive on the innovative power of all partners and start-ups,” said Erik Petruschke, Managing Director Digital Hub Logistics Hamburg.

“Innovations are most successful when achieved collaboratively. To advance the digital transformation of our industry, we don’t need “egosystems”; rather, we require an innovation ecosystem where we collaborate and illuminate ideas from various perspectives. The Digital Hub Logistics in Hamburg serves as an inspiring space for Hellmann, allowing us to share and evolve our approaches and experiences as a global logistics provider alongside diverse partners from the corporate and startup world. We look forward to shaping the ecosystem for tomorrow’s logistics – digitally and sustainably,” added Stefan Borggreve, Chief Digital Officer and newly appointed member of the Management Board of Hellmann Worldwide Logistics.
