In this interview, she provides valuable insights into Hellmann Ireland's operations, its dedicated team, the comprehensive range of services offered, and the strategic priorities for the future, emphasizing a commitment to growth and excellence within the Hellmann network.

Welcome to the Hellmann FAMILY, Niamh. Can you tell us about your professional background and experience in the forwarding industry before you joined Hellmann?

Niamh Savage: Thank you, I am very excited to be on board! I have been in the forwarding industry for over 30 years, gaining extensive experience in managing teams for various aspects of logistics, including air freight exports and imports, sea freight imports and exports, customs brokerage, and warehousing. My focus has been on industries such as pharma, tech, and general cargo. 

You were appointed General Manager of Hellmann Ireland, when Hellmann expanded into Ireland in November 2023. Can you share more about the location and your team?

Niamh Savage: Certainly. Our location is in Swords, North of Dublin, strategically positioned near Dublin airport and port. This allows us easy access to key transportation hubs. Our team in Ireland consists of seven dedicated professionals with expertise in export, import, sales, administration, and pricing.

What products and services is Hellmann Ireland offering to its clients?

Niamh Savage: Hellmann Ireland offers a comprehensive range of services, including air freight imports and exports, ocean imports and exports, as well as road imports and exports. Our goal is to provide a one-stop solution for our clients' logistics needs.

Given the strong presence of pharma companies in Ireland, what are the focus areas and strengths of Hellmann Ireland?

Niamh Savage: Pharma and Healthcare will indeed be a significant focus for us, given the thriving industry in Ireland. We aim to leverage our team's extensive experience in freight forwarding, with strengths in import/export, pharma shipment processing and handling, compliance, audits, GDP (Good distribution practice), and customs brokerage. Our team is well-equipped to meet the specific needs of the pharmaceutical sector.

What are the future plans and priorities for Hellmann Ireland moving forward?

Niamh Savage: Our future plans involve growing and developing the business in Ireland. We're focusing on expanding our network, reaching out to logistics managers across the country through networking events. We actually just held one at the end of February and it was fantastic!

Additionally, we are prioritizing a seamless transition from our previous agent and building a successful presence in Ireland, contributing to the overall success of the Hellmann network.
