To show their heartfelt gratitude to their carrier partners, Hellmann organized a wine tasting and Christmas dinner accompanying the award ceremony. In their welcome speeches, Reiner Heiken, CEO Hellmann, and Marcus Leaver, COO Seafreight at Hellmann, provided insights into the significance of the award ceremony and the importance of the partnership between Hellmann and its carrier partners. During the dinner, an engaging table quiz took place, adding an element of fun and competition to the formal event.

The excitement peaked right before dessert when the quiz winners were revealed, resulting in two victorious tables. Originally, a €1,000 prize was set for the winning table. Yet, in a touching display of generosity, both winning tables decided to divide the prize evenly, contributing €500 each to the children’s clinic of the  University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf and International Seamen’s Club Hamburg. In a true act of corporate philanthropy, Reiner Heiken pledged to double the initial donation, effectively doubling the overall contribution.

The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the presentation of the Carrier of the Year Awards. These awards recognized the exceptional performance and dedication of carriers.

For the Global Carrier of the Year Awards in 2023, the following carriers were honored:

Silver: Mediterranean Shipping Company
Bronze: CMA CGM

LCL (Less Container Load):
Gold: WorldWide Alliance
Silver: ECU Worldwide
Bronze: Vanguard Logistics
