Thank you for joining us today, Mei Ling and Finn. Could you please introduce yourselves briefly?
Mei Ling Li: Of course. I'm Mei Ling Li, and I've been with Hellmann for almost 10 years now. I started as a trainee, did my dual studies and I have been working in the Fashion Logistics vertical since 4 years. For two years I am in the role of the Global Fashion Solution Manager.
Finn Emke: Hi, I'm Finn Emke. I joined Hellmann in 2020 as an intern and have been working in Fashion Logistics for a little over a year now.
Can you tell us why you decided to start this blog, "Logistics Behind the Seams"?
Mei Ling Li: In fashion, there are hundreds of blogs and newspapers that discuss the fashion business. Unfortunately, they don’t cover the important topic of fashion logistics, which is the backbone of the globalized and fast-paced fashion industry. The main goal of our blog is therefore to inform about the newest trends and solutions in this field of business. We will therefore cover current trends and topics that move the Fashion industry in terms of their supply chain.
Finn Emke: Additionally, we aim to engage in conversations and exchanges with professionals in the field, which we believe will contribute to the growth and improvement of fashion logistics practices.
Who should read your blog?
Finn Emke: Basically, anyone interested in the fashion business and the logistics behind. We believe especially employees in purchasing and logistics managers at fashion and lifestyle brands will be able to gain valuable insights and information help them make informed decisions and improve their logistics processes.
What is the first article of your blog about?
Mei Ling Li: We plan on starting with one of the most critical topics of the fashion world at the moment: Sustainability. Since roughly 10% of global greenhouse gas emissions are emitted by the fashion industry, this is one of the most important topics for the fashion supply chains. The first article will therefore provide an overview over emerging sustainability trends and how they will shape the industry’s future.
Can you give us a sneak peek of the topics you have in the pipeline for the coming months?
Finn Emke: Absolutely. We will be featuring interviews with selected experts who specialized in Sustainable Airfreight and Seafreight. Furthermore, we are looking forward to having interviews with some fashion experts from our team. All of them have been working in the fashion industry for a long time and we believe it would be a great value to share some insights, talk about challenges and trends. Next to the sustainability topics, we will talk about emerging concepts and new solutions in fashion logistics. Here, we will also introduce our most innovative Solution “Smart Retail Delivery”, which will help to significantly reduce supply chain costs.
